A 5-figure bet we made 3 weeks ago
This week's Self-Made Memo is about doing the thing even when you have no idea what you're doing.
Jess challenged me this week to write a memo that has nothing to do with my boys or their sports.
Challenge accepted. I've been deep in AI and it's a little unhinged
Like most of you, I started with ChatGPT. Copy. Captions. Email drafts. I felt pretty solid at it and thought okay — I get this.
And then I fell into Claude AI.
Projects. Custom-built apps. Live student dashboards. Tools pulling data and organizing my entire world so I can move faster with less friction. I am literally building out my own personal AI assistant — one that is going to function like a right-hand person in my business.
For next to nothing. Saving us a massive salary we would have paid a human.
I want to be honest with you — there have been moments this past month where I sat there genuinely unsure of what I was doing. Nervous. Challenged. Googling things I felt like I should already know.
I did it anyway. The funnel I built in under 2 minutes
You know we live in GHL. And if you haven't noticed, AI is being layered into everything inside of it right now.
Last week I built a complete funnel for a student — a gorgeous, finished page — in less than two minutes. I didn't type a single word of copy. I spoke my idea and vision out loud into Whisper Flow and it built it.
Two minutes.
Something that used to take me hours. Then we did the thing that actually scared us
You know us. When we decide we're going all in on something, we don't just dabble — we find the best mentor we can and we invest in speed.
Three weeks ago, Jess and I invested in a five-figure AI mentorship program.
Yes. Five figures.
Were the funds comfortable? Not exactly. Did we do it anyway? Absolutely. Because we know what it costs to stay behind — and that bill is always higher.
What we are learning inside that program is genuinely mind-blowing. The ways AI is going to reshape how we serve our students, run our business, and scale — it's not coming. It's already here. The lesson for us as entrepreneurs
Staying ahead in your industry doesn't happen by watching from a comfortable distance.
It happens when you stretch yourself into the things that feel too new, too technical, too big. When you invest in the tech before you fully understand it. When you invest in mentors who are actively investing in themselves — because you will learn everything they are learning in real time.
(Hint hint.)
Dive in when you're nervous. Invest when it stretches you. Move before you feel ready.
The people who are going to win in the next five years are not the ones who waited until they were sure. They're the ones who got in the room early and figured it out as they went.
So tell me —
Where are you on AI right now? Dabbling? All in? Still on the sidelines?
Hit reply and tell us where you're at. We want to know — and honestly, we might be able to point you in the right direction.
Natasha
